The conditions this evening on the HF bands made it difficult to have reliable communications with fellow hams nearby...however I was able to work Andy (3DAØTM) in Mbabane, Swaziland at 8,500+ miles away! Propagation of radio waves is always interesting!

Morning Coffee and a QSO with Gerald in the Netherlands! - PA3GEG
This morning, I enjoyed a QSO with Gerald (PA3GEG) in the Netherlands while I drank my coffee. So cool to enjoy the company of someone 4,400 miles away (where it was early afternoon for him) as I get my day started.

Thoughts on getting back into ham radio after being QRT for several years
I’ve really enjoyed getting back into amateur radio. I spent just a few minutes on the radio tonight and made contacts in the Galápagos Islands and Brazil. I've made contacts in 26 countries so far! Not to mention the great group I talk to here in Georgia and South Carolina.
I am happy to see that there is still a lot of activity. In fact, 75m is pretty busy most nights and it can be hard to find a frequency without QRM to talk. I was very surprised at how many bad operators I've run across. Cussing, playing music, sound effects, telling people to get off their frequency, not respecting the DX Code of Conduct, "tuning up" on top of others, etc...
Amateur radio is great hobby and this go around, I'm starting fresh. I'm learning more, doing more, and enjoying more than I have before!
I hope to work you later on down the log!

Upgraded from General to Amateur Extra Class Amateur Radio License
I took and passed my Amateur Extra exam today! I’ve been into radio since I was just a kid. I never imagined I would one day hold the highest Amateur Radio license available!
